Bazley Residents Association

To ensure clarity on our role, here’s a snapshot of some of our activities:

Security Enhancement:
• Implementing significant camera system improvements for 24/7 monitoring.
• Regular interaction with Gladiator regarding Bazley security.

Environmental Stewardship:
• Engaging authorities on mass excavation and bush clearing.
• Alien Invasive Plant removal.
• Meticulously cleaning the beach twice a week.
• Vigilant monitoring of wildlife including regular snare patrols, camera surveillance and reporting of poaching incidents.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relations:
• Successful discussions with Illovo management leading to increased funding.
• Ongoing talks with Umdoni Municipality for road repair and town improvement.
• Ongoing engagement with multiple other stakeholders including local councillors, Illovo security, neighbouring farmers, SAPS etc, covering a multitude of issues which affect Bazley.

Cleanliness Initiatives:
• Regular cleaning of the beaches, skip area, and key locations.

Maintenance/Projects:
• Undertaking various projects, including signage and road maintenance.

Ndasingane Access and Permit System:
• Managing the Ndasingane access and permit system in collaboration with the Mac Nicols Caravan Park.

Communication:
• Developing the B.R.A. website and acquiring www.bazley.org.za for this website.
• Regularly disseminating “News Bites” and other news/feedback through WhatsApp groups.
• A regular comprehensive newsletter for community engagement.

Community Database:
Finalizing a comprehensive cloud-based database of all properties and homeowners in Bazley.

Limitations of Responsibilities

There are however a number of areas/aspects which don’t fall within our scope of responsibility, including:

Policing:
While promoting a safe and secure community is a priority for the B.R.A., it does not have the authority or responsibility to engage in policing or law-enforcement activities.

Emergency Services:
The B.R.A. is not a substitute for emergency services; please contact relevant agencies for immediate assistance.

Legal Matters:
The B.R.A. is not authorized to provide legal advice; please seek legal counsel for concerns.

Property Disputes:
We are not responsible for individual property disputes; please resolve these directly with the party concerned or seek legal advice, if necessary. To be clear, we will not be involved in any way with disagreements between neighbours.

Municipal Services:
Though B.R.A. advocates for community interests, it does not provide nor answer for municipal services; please contact relevant municipal authorities for public service issues.

We would like to emphasize that all the work carried out by the B.R.A. committee is done on a voluntary basis.
