Urgent Notice! Poaching and Beach Incident Response Team

Bazley suffers with:

  • Incidents of poaching involving multiple people and hunting dogs;
  • Out of town groups of fishermen who pay no heed to the rules of the beach; and
  • Poaching on the beaches, esp mussels/octopus, from Ifafa side.

Purpose
:

  • To show a visible presence in numbers so as to deter, not ambush, poachers or unruly fishermen from coming to the area. We are not a vigilante group or a law enforcement agency, different role to Gladiator or SAPS.
  • Make it clearly noticeable that we do not tolerate unacceptable conduct and transgressions of the law.

We have put together an appropriately sized volunteer team of like minded concerned residents to tackle these incidents.

Appeal to Bazley Residents – Your Role

  1. Please be very certain of your observations and facts before logging an incident on the Bazley Emergency WhatsApp group. Once the incident is logged it will be moved to the Poaching and Beach Incident WhatsApp group to be actioned accordingly. On resolution feedback will be provided to the community.

  2. Incidents need to be logged concisely with key information.
