AskYourCouncillor is a community-powered platform designed to strengthen communication between residents and their local ward councillors. By making concerns public, trackable and transparent, it supports active citizenship and more effective municipal service delivery.

How it works
1. Report an issue
Submit a municipal concern — such as waste removal, road repairs, streetlights or landscaping — directly to your ward councillor. Photos help verify the issue.
2. Public record
Your report is posted publicly, allowing neighbours to view, comment on and track issues affecting the area.
3. Councillor response
Councillors receive a unique link to the report and can respond directly with feedback, action plans or updates — all visible to the community.
4. Community verification
When others engage with a report, it shows the issue affects more than one resident, strengthening the case for action.
5. Resolution & accountability
Progress can be tracked until the issue is resolved, helping ensure long-term accountability for service delivery.
