BRA is continually in discussion with Councillor Sthembiso Mthwane (Bazley’s ward councillor) and various Umdoni municipal officials with regard to municipal services needed by Bazley. Recently we’ve enjoyed some success with the repair and tarring of large sections of Lagoon Drive. We’ve been promised that kerbs, road markings and completion of the job will occur shortly. We were also pleased to have the Umdoni Vegetation team/s finally arrive to clear overhanging trees and encroaching bush on our roads. So far progress has been slow but steady.
We’re also grateful that we seem to be getting a more regular and consistent verge clearing service. However, the repair of both potholes and more serious road damage (especially on the north side) remains frustratingly difficult to get Umdoni to commit to. Longstanding promises in this regard remain unfulfilled which is why we had no choice but to resurrect the Pothole Party and start doing it ourselves.
